Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
